RMS Mülheim suffered a total loss of power in the early hours of Saturday 22nd March 2003.
She ran ashore at Castle Zawn between Sennen Cove and Land's End at approximately 4.45am - coming to rest in Gamper Bay.
The crew were airlifted to safety by the amazing crew of the Coastguard Rescue helicopter with the offshore lifeboat standing.
Only a partial salvage of the ship's cargo was successful, before it was deemed too costly and difficult on this unforgiving coast - home to a number of shipwrecks through the ages.
The ultimate demise of the ship was left in the hands of the sea.
