This is an ongoing project portraying my fascination with the relationship between natural and artificial light.

Unless you live in a rural location, there is the ever pervasive use of artificial light. As soon as the natural light of the day begins to fade, street lights attempt to take over.

Street lights are needed for obvious and sadly essential reasons such as personal safety and security, but then there are many others which are a waste of time and money. More importantly, they contribute to the ever growing scourge of light pollution which essentials screws with our natural world as well as our own.

Although I am repelled by street lights, I am drawn to them on a photographic level and their placement in our daily (or should that be nightly) lives.
