Jordan's Mine is a Portland Stone mine. In 2016 it was the biggest mine on the isle, with several miles of tunnels - in some areas, reaching 9 metres high.

Since the 19th century, It had been a quarry site but since a successful planning application and the signing of the Unilateral Undertaking, mining began in 2008.

Mining minimises the impact on the environment and local residences. The access road is situated within an existing quarry landscape and the mine is far enough away from the sensitive properties in this conservation area.

Jordan's Mine produces Jordan's Whitbed, Fancy Beach Whitbed, Grove Whitbed, Jordan's Basebed, Jordan's Roach.
